There is much that we have achieved to date with our work, and much more is still to be done.
2002 - 2005
our activities have focused more on women's economic empowerment in the groups. WPC initiated and supported projects in the areas of skills development (tailoring and handicraft, entrepreneurship and small business development, and basic literacy skills). We believed income was essential to women's empowerment at family and community level. Following projects were carried out:
2006 - to date
WPC activities focus more towards community education and advocacy work. Initiatives such as election and voter's education, civic participation, save mothers' lives campaign to address VAW, unwanted pregnancies and maternal mortality, capacity building on Gender mobilization, policy analysis and right based advocacy for frontline community facilitators are being implemented.Following specific projects were implemented:
